LAS VEGAS – July 8, 2010 – IBM has pre-announced the coming availability of their newest version of operating system z/OS, v1.12, by late September 2010.

Although IBM does not generally provide Independent Software Vendors like Vanguard the new release until after its general availability, Vanguard began participating, for a fee, in the IBM “Early Testing Program for z/OS v1.12” as soon as IBM made the early testing program available through the IBM Partner Program.

All Vanguard Security Suite products in our current release and in our next release (due out in 3rd quarter 2010) are actively being tested to ensure full compatibility with z/OS v1.12 upon general availability.

In addition to compatibility Vanguard is also actively analyzing and testing new functionality within z/OS v1.12. Our plans for z/OS v1.12 new function exploitation will be announced later this quarter.
